Known as one of the true trailblazing organizations of women’s football, the New York Sharks helped shape the modern landscape of both tackle and flag football through a remarkable series of groundbreaking achievements.

From representing the United States in the inaugural IFAF Women’s World Flag Football Championship and appearing in the first women’s tackle football exhibition at an NFL game, to launching the first NFL-supported football development program for girls and becoming the first women’s team represented in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Sharks consistently led the sport forward.

Their legacy extends far beyond championships and victories, helping create new opportunities for women and girls in football while setting standards for excellence, visibility, and innovation that continue to influence the game today.
