It is with great sadness that we tell our fans that New York Sharks linebacker, Sharon Pascale died on Christmas day. Sharon has played for the Sharks since the beginning, playing in their very first game in 1999. She was also a teacher at P.S. 771 in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
Sharon was killed in a car accident after attending a family Christmas Party. For more details, for the Daily News article.
There were about 500 people at Sharon’s funeral on Saturday and about 120 cars in the procession from the church to the cemetery. All of the people went in front of her casket and threw roses and other types of flowers to her. The Sharks had roses with little cards on them with our logo in one corner and in the other it said “My message to Sharon”; we were able to write on the card. It was so sad, at the end right before they lowered her casket, the Sharks stood within view of the casket and gave a “Sharks Ohh Rah”. -Courtney Eaton
